What is biodynamic massage?

It is a form of soft tissue bodywork that helps the body connect with its own healing abilities. Therapists listen to the client's words as well as their body through intentional touch. There is increasing evidence that our body holds our life story in its structure, and this includes trauma / struggles we may have experienced. Biodynamic massage helps release patterns of  tissue tension and integrate new ones.  Techniques are used to sooth or stimulate areas of your body according what it needs, helping fluid / energy  to move freely.

How is it different?

We don't use oil. The quality of touch is enhanced by skin to skin or skin through clothes contact.

Every session will be different. They will be tailored to what you - your bodymind needs on the day.

You are in control. Feeling comfortable is essential so you choose what you want to wear / remove. We will also talk about the areas of your body that you are happy to be touched and the level of pressure and speed that feels right.

Use of a stethoscope. I will listen to and use the sounds of your lower gut to inform my touch. The sounds of psycho-peristalsis provide a unique insight into the significant moments of the massage. It as been described as listening to psychological digestion, the body's way of  processing our thoughts an feelings.

Poly-vagal, breathwork and embodiment techniques complement the massage to enable the benefits to continue between sessions
